I finished the article saying that, if everyone’s wishes came true, there would soon be no more people left. Well, that sounds grim. Then, I decided to look at wishes coming true from a different perspective – the “positive” perspective. What will happen if everyone’s “good” wishes and hopes start coming true? Here is what it looks like.
All women dream of marrying a prince. What will happen if that comes true? First of all, where are so many princes to be found? Secondly, from a purely statistic perspective, there is simply more women than men – there is not enough for everyone. Thirdly, what if several women want to marry the same prince? Will the number of contenders somehow decrease? Should they turn to violence? Will contests be held? Will there be a lottery? What about the wishes of those women that will not get the prince in this case? After all, someone will have to give in. So, their wishes will not come true… And, finally, what if the prince himself will not want to get married? Should he be forced to get married? That can contradict his own desires. Wishes of some people contradict the wishes of other people – what happens then?
In life, most people do not like to work. Let us imagine that their sacred wish comes true and they stop working. Still, I am sure that their needs will not decrease. So, who will feed them, give them water to drink and clothe them? The remaining minority will simply not have enough strength to provide for this horde.
Very many people want to be bosses, ministers and presidents in life. Where to find so many work positions? Who will plough, sow, manufacture all the necessities and follow their command, if one group of people will only give orders and the rest will follow their dream of not working?
Many would like to live in warm countries, in posh villas, by the side of a warm ocean, among white sand and palm-trees. However, there not that many places of this kind in the world – not enough for everyone. Again, this time from a purely geographic perspective, these wishes cannot be fulfilled.
No one wants to die, everyone want to live forever. Well, if not forever then, at least, for a very long time. If that were the case, the population of the Earth would grow in a geometrical progression and there would be a collapse due to a lack of resources.
What if today you wish for your husband to day, he dies just as you wished, and the next day you change your mind? What then?
People could also commit crimes and avoid punishment, just as they please.
And what about properties that everyone will consider theirs?
Also, how will all the conflicts, wars, court proceedings and arguments end? There will only be winners. And what will happen in sports where there will also be no losers, no second and third places – only first places because, after all, everyone only wants to win, to have the golden medal and so on and so on. You can continue this list yourself.
Complete nonsense, right?
This is why God created Karma, so it would regulate everything justly – not according to the changing and mood-dependent human understanding of justice, but according to the judgment of God. He knows better than people what is good or bad for everyone and, most importantly, what everyone deserves.
Therefore, fulfilling desires and making wishes come true WITHOUT CHANGING KARMA is fundamentally impossible and someone needs to tell people the truth. It also takes courage to hear that truth. If wishes were as simple as “wish and ye shall receive”, as it is portrayed in talks, lectures and writing, everyone would long be happy, healthy, rich and living in never-ending communism, another fairy tale for very naive people – since such naivete is no longer found, no one believes in communism anymore either. But people still do believe in the miraculous coming true of wishes. “What if I am lucky? What if a miracle happens?” Unfortunately, it will most likely not happen. Maybe it is actually for the best.
Once again, not a very optimistic picture. Well, I beg your pardon but that is the way it is. That is my Dharma – destroying illusions and clearing space for truth. And the truth is this: if you want your wish to come true, you have to change your consciousness, because our life is a reflection of our consciousness. This can only be done by changing Karma, which is actually what determines and configures the consciousness. And Karma can be changed only and exclusively with the help of God. Without Him such utterly complex changes in people’s lives are simply impossible, because the events in the life of one person are tightly linked with the events in the lives of many other people. Yoga and Karma Yoga, in particular, is what takes care of disentangling these links and providing solutions.
You could object, “I once wished for something and it came true without any kind of Yoga.” Yes, that happens sometimes when people’s wishes match their Karma. Congratulations! But this happens very rarely. Most of the time, wishes remain unfulfilled dreams. And thank God! That way, Karma keeps the Universe in harmony.
